Good Friday/Easter Sunday Preview

In Sunday Preview on April 21, 2011 by The Spillover

Is there any other week of the year that is more special to the heart of a believer?  Passion week, or holy week, or whatever you call it rings a tune in our hearts as we reflect on the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord.

We encourage you to read Luke chapters 22-24 this week as you prepare for worshipping with us on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. These are some powerful chapters that take you through the story of the betrayal, last supper, arrest, beatings, trials, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of our Lord.  Let the words of Scripture wash over you as you remember what Christ has done on our behalf.

Here at Calvary Good Friday is going to be a special remembrance of our Lord.  6 area churches are joining together to reflect on and celebrate the work of Christ.  Tuesday night we had our dress rehearsal—over 60 people singing in a choir, a full worship band, winds, drama, testimonies: It is going to be an incredible evening of remembrance.

And then on Easter Sunday—a resurrection celebration.  Come as we delve into the victory and hope that the resurrection brings to our lives.  Recovery? Recovery.  It’s all about the resurrection of Christ.

Here is some of the music that you will hear this weekend. Click the links to see videos of these songs on YouTube.
