Sunday Preview

In Sunday Preview on April 29, 2011 by The Spillover

What’s your 2wordstory?

Last week we began a series called Recovery? Recovery.  It’s our 2wordstory: The fact that only Christ has the power to change us from the inside out. Only His Spirit can convict us of our wrong.  And only God has the ability to truly bring about recovery.

This week it’s all about being alive.

Alive? Alive.

The secret is without a second birth we will never know true life!

The problem is people think that you can be good enough or religious enough to get into a right standing with God.  Nicodemus had all the qualifications of someone who fit that bill.  He was a member of the Sanhedrin.  He was a man who obeyed the law.  A Jewish Rabbi.  Yet he went to Jesus by night because he still felt Jesus knew something he didn’t.  Jesus let him in on a secret.  He was a dead man walking.  The only way to find true life with power and meaning is to be born again.

We think what we have is good enough, but Jesus wants us to know the most important thing we have to have is a new life in Him.  No matter what we do, we won’t know true life until then.

The secret is a second birth.

This week we also embark on our prayer walk & Gospel drop after the service.  Make sure you make plans to join us as we spread the Word to the 9 square miles surrounding our church.

Here are some of the songs we’re doing on Sunday.  Click on the link and take a listen and get your heart prepared to worship our Savior this week.

Alive? Alive.
