This is the deepest image of the universe ever taken. Astronomers pointed NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope at one tiny patch of sky for several months, which would be the equivalent size of a grain of rice held at arm’s length. What they saw, as shown in this image, was roughly 10,000 galaxies. For reference, our Milky Way galaxy contains 200-400 billion stars.
