Christmas Eve/Christmas Morning Preview

In Sunday Preview on December 24, 2011 by The Spillover

I’ll try not to overload this Sunday Preview with exclamation points!!!

Christmas is here. We can rejoice! again, rejoice! that our Savior has come for us though we were undeserving! It’s amazing, it’s astounding, it’s unbelievable; it’s everything! (Sorry about all the exclamation points. Can’t help it!)

Here’s the scripture for our message. No doubt you’ve read it before, countless times. May it penetrate our hearts in a new way this Christmas!

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” -Luke 2:8-14

We’ve been challenged for the past few weeks to make this Christmas different. Well here we are! Let’s make it stick!

Here are the (awesome) songs we’ll be singing:

  • Hark the Herald Angels Sing
  • Angels from the Realms of Glory
  • Tell Me the Story of Jesus
  • The First Noel
  • Silent Night

Whether you choose the Christmas Eve service or the Christmas Morning service, we can’t wait to worship and learn with you. Let’s meditate on the scripture above and pray together that veteran saints would be refreshed by this Truth and that those who don’t know the Lord will be drawn to His unbelievable love!
