Let’s Be Rich Toward God

In Links on January 31, 2012 by The Spillover

This is an awesome message I had the joy of watching last night with my lovely wife. If you have 50 minutes, give it a look. It’s a simple but refreshing sermon on exalting Christ through the worship of giving.

Healthy Sexuality

In Links,Resources on January 17, 2012 by The Spillover

Our favorite Canadian Tim Challies (who is celebrating his 3000th consecutive day of blogging today) compiled a thorough list of resources on the topic of healthy sexuality. According to Tim:

People are in different places: some need to learn or be reminded of God’s design for sex and marriage; others are in the trenches fighting to maintain purity in these areas and need encouragement; still others have suffered deep wounds in the battle and need first aid.

He breaks them down into three categories: Understanding God’s Design for Sex and Marriage, Fighting Against Sexual Temptation, and Recovering from Sexual Failure.

We need resources like these. Click here to check it all out.

The Catholic Ad Blitz is Here

In Awareness,Links on December 16, 2011 by The Spillover

If you didn’t know, today marks the beginning of a three-week-long, multi-million-dollar advertisement campaign run by the Catholic church, called “Catholics Come Home“.  People will no doubt be talking about it. I found this article quite helpful in guiding us toward a proper response.

Lest you wonder if the Catholic faith is “really that different” than the true faith revealed by Scripture, in Christ alone, by faith alone, consider this, this, this, this, and this (from the Catholics Come Home website).

“Money, Possessions, and Eternity” is Free on Kindle

In Links on December 13, 2011 by The Spillover

While I haven’t read the book Money, Possessions, and Eternity by Randy Alcorn, I have heard enough reviews from enough people I love and respect to know it’s a knockout book on how we, as Christians, ought to handle our resources. Through December 24th it’s free for those of you who read books on an Amazon Kindle. Click here to get it.

Our Canadian blogging friend Tim Challies has itemized some of the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that might be of particular interest to Christians. Two lists this year – one for deals in general, and another for the Christian book lover.
